L I O R A - meaning 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, is the first handmade paper vase design of a hopefully growing vase collection. 

Inspired by the deckled edges of handmade paper, naturally created during the papermaking process, and the variations in transparency of different types of handmade paper. 

When the light shines through the kozo paper, giving the paper a naturally warm feeling, the wild fibers appear and  start dancing with each other.

The play with transparency and the long wild kozo fibers combine perfectly with the more uniform, calm and soft character of abaca and provide a good balance between the different textures. These unique characteristics are the essence of the design.

Each vase is formed entirely by hand. Due the handmade nature of the papermaking process no two sheets of paper are alike. Therefore, each vase is one of a kind and has its own unique character. 

The result of an intensive process is a timeless and minimalistic lightweight design, a stunning addition to any interior.

Of course you can place the vase anywhere you like. But it really shines out in a place where it can capture light. The light will then shines through the paper and those long and wild kozo fibers will appear clearly.

Although I recommend keeping the vase out of direct sunlight!

Or place the vase nearby a light source. In the evening the light turns the fibers into real dancers.

S o m e   n o t e s :

- Please be careful: the paper remains fragile, especially the soft abaca paper. Be careful when dusting the vase. I recommend doing this as little as possible, only when absolutely necessary, dusting gently with a feather duster.

- The vases are meant for dried flowers only and are not designed to hold water.
