I want to tell stories through photos, handwritten word and handmade paper. I think these three mediums; photography, handwriting and artisan paper, are already invaluable and significant in their own way. But by combining them a new artistic medium is created. They will merge and reinforce each other and create something extremely unique and valuable. Those wild paper fibers will blend in with the photo,
What we are going to do during that photoshoot is actually up to you. Which moment do you want to document? Which story do you want to tell?
Big or small stories, that doesn't matter, as long as it means something to you. Our most cherished memories are often hidden in everyday moments. You decide which role handmade paper and handwritten word will play in that story.
* In addition to the digital photos, you will receive at least one photo printed on handmade paper. A printed photo and handwritten letter are tangible. You can hold them and you'll look at them a lot more and feel it much deeper than if they were only digital.
A handwritten letter is personal and intimate and conveys a sense of warmth, closeness and care.
It is the most personal gift you can give someone, you'll make someone feel special.
Just the fact that a loved one has taken the effort and time to write a letter, written by their own hands, gives it so much more value.
But in this digital day and age handwritten notes are a lost art. It is such a shame.
YOU CAN HOLD A LETTER CLOSE TO YOUR HEART, KNOWING IT IS A TANGIBLE CONNECTION WITH SOMEONE, IN A WAY YOU CANNOT WITH DIGITAL MEANS.
They are emotional powerful, heartfelt and meaningful.
In addition to the meaning behind the written words and the effort the person has made to write something, handwriting has its own unique ability; it brings authenticity to the paper. Imperfections and mistakes in handwriting only contribute to its authenticity. A digital message does not leave that same mark. You can edit the text as often as you want and all of our writing will look the same, regardless who wrote it.
A handwriting is unique to each person. The characteristics and signature of a handwriting becomes part of an individuals personality.
Maybe the specific shape of letters are enough to think about that person.
The handwriting is a tangible reminder of the person who wrote it.
To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart. Regardless of the words on the page, the effort behind written correspondence sends a message in itself.
